This paddle design is inspired by Matariki, the Māori New Year, and the deep connection between the stars and the natural world that surrounds us as paddlers. Each star in the Matariki cluster is linked to elements of the environment—such as the wind, rain, tides, and food sources—that shape our experiences on the water.

Shaft
When designing our full composite shafts our goal was to create a shaft that is light weight, strong and with similar flex properties to a timber shaft. We are able to achieve this by controlling the percentage of carbon fibre and fibreglass in the shaft and also the orientation of the fibre weave. The result is consistent shaft weights and flex.
